End of a Chapter, Beginning of a New…

6
Good morning sunbeams,

What a raining day in Cape Town! I have officially finished my internship at Elle Magazine and yesterday we had a farewell tea in the office which included lots (and I mean LOTS) of cake consumption. Namely, a decadent chocolate gateau, cake pops and an amazing cheesecake topped with strawberries. I’m going to miss the team of #ELLEbelles so much! But, I am also excited to start a new chapter in my life.

Next month I fly off to Berlin for a week with my man, and then I’m off to Greece for just under a month. I am so excited because I also get to see my baby sis (who I haven’t seen in 5 months!!) and then two of my best friends join us in the lovely island of Mykonos.

This is an outfit I wore to work the other day. I may have borrowed this Tiger of Sweden coat from the #ELLE fashion closet 😉
I’m wearing:
White shirt-  Cotton On
Navy and denim twofer- Tally Weijl
Leather fit and flare skirt- Fashion Express
Stockings- Woolworths
Boots- ZOOM Footwear
Faux Fur Coat- Tiger of Sweden
Necklace- Aldo
Ring- Tessa Designs
Hand bag- Michael Kors

ZOOM Footwear Challenge DAY #1: Chanel Inspired

22
It was a very rainy and grey day for the first day of the ZOOM Footwear Challenge. Boo! Instead of the flowy dress I wanted to wear I had to swap my outfit to a navy silk vest with zip pocket, skinny jeans, a gorgeous Chanel inspired white tweed jacket with gold button detail and nude chain hand bag. I think the shoes looked great paired with this simple yet chic outfit. I also accessorised with a gold chain necklace, gold earrings and a pearl ring I got for my 21st birthday passed down from my mom! For obvious reasons I call this my “Chanel” outfit.

I’m wearing:
Nude heels- ZOOM Footwear
Skinny jeans- Sissy Boy
Navy vest- Tally Weijl
White tweed jacket- Zara
Gold necklace- Woolworths
Tonight I am attending the Alessia Boutique Summer Launch and let me tell you about the dress I am wearing… Let’s just say it costs more than anything I have worn and I think I know the perfect shoes for it…. 😉 Photos to follow.

PS. What did you think of my “Chanel Inspired” outfit?

Well hello there, you are looking…unexpectedly different today, Cape Town. This morning I got dressed and ready for the beach- bikini, shorts, sandals the lot… Little did I know that Cape Town has other plans. It was meant to be 30 degrees today yet it’s cloudy with a slight chill Clifton side. Boo!

These outfit pics are from the other day taken with my IPhone 5. How do you like my pants? When I saw them I knew I either hated or loved them. Going past them for the second time round, I decided the latter. I think they are pretty damn cool! I decided to pair them with a tailored mid length blazer, a chic navy silk vest with zip detail and black points. This way I could still look polished yet laid back. I accessorised with my amazing blue reflective aviators, a black quilted chain bag and a beautiful purple Murano glass ring I got as a gift from Italy. It’s psychedelic yet so pretty at the same time. And of course, silver cross earrings (someone asked me if I always do this to keep the vampires away).
I’m wearing:
Black blazer- Zara
Silk navy vest- Tally Weijl
Crazy legging pants- Mr Price
Black point heels- ZOOM Footwear
Black quilted handbag- Pull & Bear
Aviators- Gift
Glass ring- Murano Italy
Cross earrings- Boutique in Italy
Lip shade- MAC
My new lip shade obsession: Media by MAC. It’s actually even darker in reality and very ‘Italian goth princess drinks too much red wine’. My boyfriend hates it! Haha.
Have a great Thursday… One more day till the weekend!

There is nothing better than girlie chatter, a Kir Royale and some delicious (half price, score!) sushi on a sunny day. These are photos taken yesterday at Beluga restaurant in Green Point. I had my usual Philadelphia rolls (smoked samon cali rolls with cream cheese) which are out of this world tasty, if you haven’t tried them do it.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Caviar groups famous half price sushi, dim sum and cocktail special:
Sevruga’s special is from 12-6pm everyday (Sundays are 2-6) and Beluga’s is from 12-7pm (Sundays are all day)!

After stuffing out faces our dear friend Quentin brought us complimentary desserts which would have blown any chocolate lover’s mind!
Namely:
< 1. Lindt white chocolate beignets, with hot butterscotch sauce and vanilla bean ice cream.
2. The chocolate fondant that explodes oozing chocolate as if it were an erupting volcano. >
‘More than a Tuna Crunch’- A must try for any Tuna Crunch fan!
My Philly Rolls!
Dessert at it’s best. Forget about fruity/ vanilla-y/ nutty desserts… A dessert needs CHOCOLATE!
Casual day outfit:
Navy tow with chambray detail- Tally Weijl
White skinnies- Sissy Boy
White espadrilles- Aldo
Tan shopper- Caprisa
Sunglasses- Bangkok Platinum
Gold rings- H&M
Small cross earrings- H&M
By the way I am entering the ELLE and BlackBerry 2013 Style Reporter nation-wide competition! It is a street style and trend spotting competition and for the first post you have to capture street style “on the move”. I have slowly started approaching people and taking their photo and boy let me tell you, you don’t realise it at first but it takes balls! It’s great though because I have met some awesome people and it’s a perfect confidence booster! Never be afraid to challenge yourself.

The competition’s deadline is in 2 weeks… I think I am going to start posting photos on The Cleopatra Facebook page and see which photos spur the most attention as you’re only allowed to enter 5 photos…

Keep it real.

Florence Day #1

0
Florence is definitely one of the most charming places I’ve been to. Everywhere you look there’s something to snap at (which as a blogger can slightly overwhelm you) so you can imagine why it’s taken me ages to sift through all the photos I took. We stayed near the Duomo in the centre of town which i recommend as it’s vibey, convenient and close to the action. The Duomo in contrast to the one in Milan isn’t as intricate in it’s architecture but instead in it’s painted detail. If you ever plan a trip to Florence make sure you go to a market- there are several different type and you can find such nifty bargain buys. There are different ones on different days so check online!
It’s to expensive to eat out for every meal (especially with the Euro to Rand sitting at nearly R14) so we would picnic it for lunch usually!

Outfit #1:
White mullet dress- Zara
Sandals- Fashion Express
Chain bag- Vintage
Sunglasses- Market in Bangkok

Outfit #2:
Blue ombre op- Tally Weijl
Black skirt- H&M
Espadrilles- Aldo
