Girl Time

It’s always nice to spend time with my best friend and sunbeam. These are photos of me and Kirst hanging out, being silly and of course – macaroons from Cassis! We are both huge fans of Gelish and have monthly nail dates at Spoilt Salon on Greenpoint Main Road. Note our Pandora bracelets- the modern day charm bracelet, which were gifts for our 21st birthdays. They are very special to us and we even have a best friend charm- a little butterfly each that clip together.

Close enough to Snow

Is it snowing? Is it haling? This was today’s debate.

I spent my Sunday morning having breakfast with my bestie Jo (click here to visit her lovely blog) who came down from Johannesburg to visit! We had a fun dinner party last night at my place with all our girlfriends, ate way too much and chatted until late. She was only here for one night but it was so nice to see her! I then went to my boyfriends house and we walked to the shops in the hail….or was it snow? We debated this for a long time until we finally resorted to googling the difference. Sigh, I was wrong in the end, (even if I took a while to admit, haha) it wasn’t snow but an abnormal mass of hail.

Here’s the difference:

1. Snowflakes are ice crystals, while hailstones are ice balls.
2. Hailstones are formed when water drops are pressed and cooled against each other due to the strong winds. Snowflakes are formed when water vapour crystallizes.
3. Snowflakes are usually formed in nimbostratus clouds and hailstones are formed in cumulonimbus clouds.
4. Hailstones have rings in it and can be seen when it is cut in half. Snowflakes come in different shapes but will always have six points.
5. Hail occurs during thunderstorms or tornadoes while snow falls when the temperature drops.

My outfit today:
Leather + felt black jacket: H+M
Cream jersey- Mr Price
White vest- Bangkok market
Black skinnies- Sissy Boy
Black sneaker wedges- ProMod
Stone snood- H+M
Black beanie- Cotton On

This handbag was purchased in Bangkok in Feb. I love it’s drawstring shap! It’s definitely one of the coolest bags I’ve bought in a long time.

Between 2pm and 4pm you can indulge in a piece of a cake of your choice as well as a cappuccino for this crazy price. Unfortunately, I was told the special is until the end of May only, however if I discover it will continue I will be sure to let you know. Cape Town winter specials have begun…

Love cross accessories at the moment. These photos were taken a few days ago in town on a lunch break in Greenmarket Square. I love looking at the different architecture in the city centre… Some beautiful old turned new buildings to be seen. The city is becoming more and more exciting to explore and every time I discover another little treasure- a side cafe, a hidden vintage shop, a new vendor… There was a chill in the air that day and it had been raining so I was wearing a very cosy print jersey complete with a hood and hanging bobbles and comfy lace up boots with a small heel.

Silver cross ring- Pink Pussy
Fringe Bag- Legit
Black lace up ankle boots- Edgars
Silver textured cross earrings- Mr Price
Leather/velt jacket- H+M
Warm woollen zip up jersey- Vintage USA
Black skinnies- Sissy Boy
