The Latest Shoes And Accessories You’ll Want To Shop

If you know me personally, you would know that I have a slight problem when it comes to shoes… and accessories. Seriously, #ihavethisthingwithshoes

Part of my job as Junior Fashion Ed at Cosmopolitan Magazine is finding the most ah-mazing shoes and accessories, shooting them, talking about them, writing about them… I remember this every time I have an ‘I don’t want to go to work’ moment, and remember that I’m lucky to be doing something I’m so passionate about – and it doesn’t hurt being surrounded by beautiful things all day.

This month’s COSMO features a ‘Shoes & Accessories’ special shot by yours truly and there are some hero pieces. From perspex heels to incredible sculptural heavy metal jewellery, the trends we’ve featured have travelled from the runway to our local designers and retailers.

Here’s a peak – but if you haven’t bought the May issue yet, do yourself a fashionable favour and do!

Side note: If there’s something I’ve noticed about those trail blazing fashionable women we come across in our lives, it’s that it’s not just their clothing that does the talking, their outfits are always punctuated with gorgeous accessories and even better shoes. A little style wisdom on a fake Monday.

The perfect holiday is one spent in a bikini.

Goodbye holiday, it’s been real. Now back to the grind… Here’s to a productive 2016!

If you haven’t followed me on Instagram, please do. I post a lot more there than on my actual blog as it fits in with our generation’s always on a move lifestyle.

Balmain X H&M

Balmain and I go waay back. In fact, this French iconic brand was one of my first fashion love affairs. I remember watching Fashion TV as a young 16-year-old and falling in love with then Creative Director Christophe Decarnin’s ready-to-wear designs which eventually made their way onto my wall in the form of good old-fashioned prestick & paper.

Since Olivier Rousteing’s grand entrance the brand has mesmerised me even more. So you can imagine, when H&M announced their collab with Balmain I was super excited. Months later the collection is going into stores tomorrow!

Although the collection’s going to be more expensive (not your average H&M prices), a girl can dream right? Here’s a few of my favourite pieces:

The Balmain x H&M collection will be at the V&A Waterfront H&M tomorrow morning at 9am.

Extatic for Balmain

Being the Balmain fan that I am, I was literally extatic when this fragrance was gifted to me the other day (conveniently it also happens to be called ‘Extatic’). Not only it’s smell is so alluring and unique the angels sing when I spitz it on but it also happens to be by my favourite Parisian fashion house, Balmain.
I fell in love with Balmain’s then creative director Christophe Decarin’s designs when I was in high school. Years later the brand is now headed by creative genius Olivier Rousteing who has managed to uphold the brands legacy, if not knock it up a notch.
So, what’s in the bottle?
A mixture between edgy and luxurious this fragrance combines notes of sandalwood, cashmere wood, leather, nashi pear, night jasmine and Sharry Baby orchid (that has a similar smell to chocolate).
Extatic is an olfactory metaphor for the Balmain woman, a mix of attraction for a certain lightness of being combining with an exceedingly confident character”.

Sunglass Hut Mother’s Day Shopping Experience

On Tuesday I was invited to bring my mom along to a Sunglass Hut shopping experience which took place in celebration of Mother’s Day this Sunday! The concept surrounded the role of your mom as your very first “style icon” with the hash tag of the event being #ItStartedWithMom. Sure enough, my mom was (and still is) my very first style icon. I remember the days of watching in awe as she would get ready for a fancy evening out or dressing up in all her clothes and trotting around the house in her high heels (which is maybe the reason I love wearing them so much).

We were treated to yummy pink treats in the form of macaroons, cake pops and bubbly as well as to each choose a beautiful pair of Sunglass Hut sunnies! I’ve been eyeing out a pair for a while and eventually (I really need to work on being more decisive!) left with that exact pair.
Sooo, which did I choose? The Ray-Ban Rounds in rose gold (below)! My mom went for a chic pair of dark Dolce’s in a butterfly shape.

Don’t forget to spoil your moms this Sunday!

A Bit Of Sparkle In My Step

How cool are my new Sissy Boy sneakers? They’re from Sissy Boy’s latest sneaker collection! I feel like a rockstar in them. They have a kitsch-cool feel to them.

They’re sparkly with leopard print inserts so I thought I’d go for an all black look complete with the dramatic silhouette of my cape coat. I love that they add a little extra height too. They also retail for a little less than your usual lifestyle and sports brands do.

I’m wearing:
Crop top – Topshop
Suede pants – Zara
Cape coat – Pull and Bear
Sneakers – Sissy Boy
Earrings – Forever 21
Hand bag – H&M
Ring – Topshop

Love them? #SneakersBySissyBoy

My 11 Favourite 2015 Met Gala Gowns

The annual Met Gala took place in New York on Monday eve. It’s my favourite red-carpet event, purely because a. It’s a fashion focused event and celebrates design history b. This means that celebs go all out with their gowns. So, naturally I was super excited to browse through all the red-carpet arrivals and thought it was necessary to post on the numbers I loved.

This year, the theme of the night was “Chinese: Through The Looking Glass” focusing on art, film and fashion in the East. Although, not that many took the theme into outfit account, at all.

Here are my 11 favourites:

Zoe Kravitz in Alexander Wang

Miley Cyrus in Alexander Wang

Lily Aldridge in Carolina Herrera

Poppy Delevingne in Marchesa
Kendall Jenner in Calvin Klein
Rosie Huntington Whiteley in Atelier Versace
Kerri Russel in Altuzarra

Maggie Q in Tory Burch
Zendaya Coleman in Fausto Puglisi
Sienna Miller in Thakoon
Alexa Chung in Erdem

Trevor Noah attended this year for the first time, looking dapper in a Ralph Lauren suit, go team!
